“G” likes to tell patients both past and present he graduated from University of Manitoba Dental School in Winnipeg in the last century (pre-Y2K).  He began practicing as a general dentist since returning home to Calgary and mainly worked in the Northeast part of the city.  Being a Calgary native, his hobbies include fishing, wood working, and welded aluminum boating.  He is also an avid gardener of fruits and vegetables.  He indulges in wild mushroom foraging and spends a lot of his spare time in one of the Gulf Islands of the West Coast as a “wannabe-hippie” with a 4×4 travel van.

In the practice of dentistry, his passion in meeting patients to develop long term relationships and personalized dental care is what he is best known for.  Dr. G. enjoys asking people about their background and to simply ask “how’s your day going?”.

Having grown up as a teenager in Singapore until he immigrated to Calgary in 1988, he is able to converse in basic Mandarin.  He is an alumni of Queen Elizabeth High School, but unfortunately did not complete his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Calgary in Cellular Molecular Biology.  He did however finish his Bachelor of Science while in dental school in Winnipeg.  Dr. G. has published several research articles pertaining to microleakage of composite dental fillings, but he seldom wants to talk about them (Am J Dent. 2001 June;14(3):177-85).

In the past, he has been proudly involved in ownership of several dental clinics in Calgary, mainly Sunridge Dental and Skyview Dental.  Developing Uxbridge Dental from scratch is yet another exciting and fulfilling venture and dream come true.  As the principal dentist at Uxbridge Dental, he will be attending to patients on a full time basis.

Kal grew up in Winnipeg where she attended the University of Manitoba’s Dental Hygiene Program. After starting her dental hygiene career in the Garden City area of Winnipeg, she moved to Alberta and has made Calgary her home ever since. Her career has provided the opportunity to be team lead of over 6 hygienists, in mentorship and coaching. Recently she has traveled to the BC interior to expand her hygiene experience in providing care to remote areas.

As a seasoned dental professional she has made a mark on the industry as a compassionate and highly skilled dental hygienist. She is dedicated to fostering a positive and comfortable environment for her patients. She has used her knowledge and experience to consult throughout Calgary and continues to share her expertise to many clinics through her consulting service.

At our new dental clinic, whether it’s a routine cleaning or a complex procedure, Kal and her hygiene team go above and beyond to ensure that every patient leaves with a smile. Kal’s leadership has been instrumental in creating a welcoming atmosphere where patients feel valued and cared for. As the leader of our dynamic dental hygiene team at Uxbridge, she ensures that every member is empowered to deliver exceptional care and service to our patients. Her commitment to ongoing education and training keeps the team at the forefront of dental practices and technology, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care from any one of our amazing team members.

Outside of her professional realm, Kal has enjoyed being part of the community and watched her son play minor hockey and her daughter figure skate with local clubs for many years. She has taken a passion into fitness and taking care of herself although admits her guilty pleasure is watching reality TV and shopping.

Crystal is the office manager at Uxbridge Dental Care. She started her career as a dental assistant in 2012, developing a passion for excellent chair side patient care.  Driven by a desire to broaden her impact, she has made a shift recently into administration and management.  With her clinical background, she provides a unique perspective for upholding a high standard of care, whilst overseeing the whole clinic.  As her top priority, she is committed to supporting the dental team and ensuring that every patient receives the best possible care from start to finish.

I look forward to continuing to make a positive impact on our patients’ dental journey.  My goal as office manager is to foster a welcoming environment where patients are well cared for and feel valued.  Outside of work, I have a passion for pursuing personal development opportunities and I enjoy quality family time. As a Calgarian (born and raised!), I never get tired of exploring the beautiful landscapes of Alberta.
